Affordables
|
Affordables is a resale store that provides retail training and employment for individuals with disabilities. Skill training covers all aspects of the retail industry including operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, helping customers, accepting donations, and preparing donated items for resale.
Affordables restocks over 300 different items each day and serves an average of 150-200 customers each day.
The store depends on the generosity and support of the community as all the merchandise is donated. In turn, Affordables gives back to community members in need. Last year Affordables contributed donations to 25 families and 2 agencies to help people who suffered losses from fires and other natural disasters.

Thanks to your generous donations NIVC Services Inc. was able to open a furniture store. Affordables on 1st was opened August 2008 and provides retail furniture training and employment for individuals with disabilities. Skill training covers all aspects of the retail furniture industry including operating the cash register, cleaning and arranging furniture, helping customers, accepting donations, and preparing donated furniture for resale.
