Because north Iowa is a caring community, people like Rochelle, Eric, and Adam are working. Their employment means an increase in economic self-sufficiency and independence.
NIVC Services is the only organization in North Iowa with a primary focus of helping people with disabilities work.
Your support makes paid training and employment services possible. Agency fees do not cover our daily costs so the income from our resale stores, Affordables and Affordables on 1st along with donations by individuals, business, and local foundations help make the difference.
NIVC Services is committed to improving employment outcomes for the many people with disabilities who are not working but are ready, willing and able to work. We help people discover their talents and develop work skills. When you meet someone, one of your first questions is “what do you do?” Please consider helping north Iowans with disabilities answer that question. The Department of Labor currently reports labor force participation of people with disabilities at just 21% while non-disable people have a 69% participation rate.
NIVC Services has facility and program needs that need your support today. If you have planned giving on your mind, you may benefit most by transferring appreciated assets directly to NIVC Services. Gifts of appreciated assets, property and bequests are greatly appreciated.
Always discuss financial and estate plans with your advisors. NIVC Services is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the maximum extent allowable by law.
Future gifts to our endowment fund may be sent to Cerro Gordo County Community Foundation for the NIVC Services Endowment Fund.
How to give to NIVC Services

Goods: Perhaps you are ready to clean out your closet, basement, living room or kitchen. Gentle used clothing, housewares, furnishings, and décor provide work opportunities in north Iowa. Please consider calling Affordables to discuss your donations. We love collectibles, too and find buyers on-line to increase the impact of your donation.
Contributions, donations to stores, and proceeds from special events stay in north Iowa.
Dancing for the Dream
Dancing for the Dream is our signature fund-raising event. Local stars volunteer to learn a dance performance and just like on T.V., judges and the audience help choose the winner. Votes are made through donations in name of the dancers. The dancing couple who raises the most funds to support our mission wins the crystal trophy. All of the couples participating put on a great show and raise funds to help north Iowans with disabilities work. This is a fun and elegant evening out. Save the date for March 29, 2014.
The first Monopoly tournament was held in 2013. Sponsored by Reflections Salon, Mason City Human Rights Commission, First Citizens National Bank, and Northwestern Mutual Life. This event is open to everyone aged 14 and up who compete in the first round to win the top scores for the championship round and a chance at a $250 prize. Watch for news on this event.
We are so grateful for your support. Thank you.
